| Following
in the footsteps of the
stars from the cult
phenomenon High School
Musical, star in the
making Samantha Dorrance from
the West Midlands will record
her debut music video in
association with Disney Channel
and Sky on the 4th,
6th and 7th October at
Disney Channel Offices.
Discovered
after months of talent
scouting across the UK,
Samantha Dorrance (15) beat
of stiff competition from
hundreds of wannabe stars
across the UK and was
crowned the winner of
High School Musical; You’re
The Star competition in
September. Samantha’s music
video will be produced
by Disney Channel, responsible
for launching the careers
of Christina Aguilera, Justin
Timberlake and Britney Spears.
Directing the video is
the iconic pop and urban
music director JT from
Draw Pictures who, among other
artists, has directed Beverley
Knight, Alesha, Javine and
Gareth Gates. Choreographing
the video is Leigh Miles
whose diverse 28 year
career has seen her work
alongside the Royal Variety
Ballet, West End stage
productions and pop videos
with stars such as
Denise Van Outen and LuLu.
The video will be broadcast
on the Disney Channel
every day during half
term from 22nd October
at 11am and 8pm.

You’re The Star
competition by Disney
Channel viewers.
Directing

Hopeful
wannabes aged between 8
and 15 could make
their own video of
themselves singing, dancing or
even beat boxing to catchy
High School Musical songs.
Hundreds of entries
where whittled down to five
finalists and submitted to
disneychannel.co.uk, where Disney
Channel viewers had one
week to vote for their
favourite entrant. A
staggering 120,000 votes
were received in total.
Disney
Channel mounted their search
with a special
High School Musical:
You’re the Star bus
tour. The bus toured the
length of the
UK
, kicking off at Bluewater
Shopping Centre in
Kent
, before visiting
Birmingham
, Bristol
, Leeds,
Newcastle
and
Edinburgh
. Throughout
the tour High School
Musical wannabes had the
chance to learn some of
the dance moves and
songs from the smash-hit
Disney Channel Original Movie
as well as catch sneak
peeks of the eagerly
anticipated High School
Musical 2
In
preparation for her Disney
Channel screen debut, Samantha
will be in
London
at a mini singing and
dancing boot camp with a
top choreographer and
professional singing coach
before she performs You Are
the Music In Me from
High School Musical 2. The
prize is a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity for any High
School Musical fan.
On
finding out she had won
the chance to star in
her own High School
Musical 2 music video,
Samantha said; “I have been
obsessed with singing and
dancing since I was 2.
Starring in a
professional music video is
something I always wanted
to do, and being part
of High School Musical
is a dream come true.”

Bubbly
Midland teenager Samantha Dorrance
is setting the world of
music and dance on fire
with her glitzy routines.
Samantha,
aged 15 from Short
Heath, Willenhall, beat off
around the challenge of
600 other competitors to be
crowned the star of
Disney Channel's 'You're The
Star' talent contest.
Star-struck
Samantha was at Birmingham's
Disney store yesterday with
her family and friends
to launch her two-minute
music video 'You Are The
Music In Me' from High
School Musical 2.
The
teenager's fame is set
to rocket as the video
is broadcast on the
Disney Channel UK every day
during the school half-term.
Samantha,
who is taught at home
by her mother, Karen,
has been belting out
hits and dancing since she
could walk and talk and
reached the finals of a
Blue Peter dance competition
a few years go. |

She
was inspired to enter
her dance video in the
competition after she went
on a family trip to
Disney World in May.
Around
120,000 people voted for
her homegrown video. After
getting over the initial
shock of winning, Samantha was
whisked away to the
Disney Studios in London
where she was taught by
a professional choreographer and
singing coach for her
dazzling Disney debut.
In
the catchy video, Samantha
belts out the hit song
while dancing around in
a sparkling gold mini-dress. |

"I
was so shocked when I
heard I won around a
month ago. Starring in a
professional music video is
something I always wanted
to do," said Samantha,
who has one brother,
Kurt aged 8, .
"I'm
doing what I love which
is singing and dancing
and my family and
friends and family have
been so supportive.
Her
father, Stuart 46, said: "
We are really proud of
her. It's fantastic. She
is always singing and
dancing and this is a
great chance for her."
Karen,
aged 44, said: "She's
taking it all in her
stride. This has been
the best week of her
life."
