Samantha has been performing on stage since the age of two and has been in
many professional and amateur productions.
At the age of two she started dance classes with Sandra Taylor school of
dance, a local dance school at
Essington in the West Midlands. She then took part in a dance show every
year at Brownhill's Community School. A while later they started to
perform at the Grand Theatre Wolverhampton.
By the age of eight ,Samantha,
was also taking classes at another dance
school in Willenhall, which at the time was run by Jackie Bailey. The school had a contract for the pantomimes at the Grand
Theatre, Wolverhampton. Samantha auditioned to be a juvenile dancer. This was
her first audition for anything. When she received the
letter telling her that she had got through she had to stop taking classes
at her other dance school because the classes clashed with her pantomime rehearsals.
Samantha really enjoyed panto, it was her first professional job and
only nine years old. The pantomime was Goldilocks and the three bears and
it starred Frank Bruno, Richard Cadell and Sooty, Sophie Lawrence, Robin
Askwith, Malcolm Boyden and Charlie Cairoli. The show went on for 3 months doing 2 shows a day.
From then on she has loved the stage, taking every opportunity to be on
there. She joined an amateur dramatics society for kids aged 9-21.
This gave her the opportunity to be on stage performing in musicals. Her
first appearance with youth on stage was in Crazy for You at the
Old Rep Theatre in Birmingham.
A few months later Samantha Spotted a dance competition on Blue Peter.
They were asking you to send a video in of yourself dancing. So that is
just what she did and she got through to the finals in Rhyl.
She was then in a School Production of Pied Piper and played the title
role. She loved singing, acting and playing the main role for she had
never done that before and found it an experience.
The following year she got into panto again at the Grand Theatre, this was her
second professional performance. The pantomime was Snow White and it
starred Dan Paris, Paul Hendy, The Grumbleweeds, Nicky Diamond and Kathryn
Rooney.
She then went into another production with Youth On Stage, the production
that year was Oliver. Samantha had her first speaking part. Although, it
was only a few lines but it gave her confidence to have bigger parts in
other productions.
Samantha started to do Supporting Artist Work, Her first job was
on BBC'S Doctors. Over the years she has appeared on many episodes of
Hollyoaks, CBBC'S Grange Hill and ITV'S Midsomer Murders.
When Samantha left
her primary school in July 2003, her headmistress at Pool Hayes
Primary told the leavers assembly that she was sure that one day she
would see Sam on the stage.
It was panto season once
again and Sam was now eleven. That year she took part in two pantomimes,
one amateur and one
professional. She took part in Jack and the Beanstalk with Youth On Stage where
she performed her first principle role in a theatre as Fairy Sugardust. She then auditioned for Panto at the Grand Theatre, and got in once
again. This year it was Peter Pan and it starred Cannon and Ball, Lee
Brennan, Jane Rossington and Tony Adams. Samantha played Curly (a lost boy) and
her usual role, Junior Dancer. This was her 3rd professional show.
After this, she had
parts in Half a sixpence, Me and My Girl, Annie, and two other
professional pantomimes, Cinderella (age 12) with Gary Wilmot and
Cannon and Ball at the Grand Theatre, and Dick Whittington (age 14)
at Stafford Gatehouse where she got her chance to be a senior
dancer.
In 2007 Samantha played the role of Beatrice, in a drama/comedy play that
was performed at
the Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton. The show was based on the
history of the Sunbeam Motorcars. It's a true based story set in
the heart of the Black Country.

Beatrice, was rather humorous. She hates swearing and
can't stand people who do. It brings her out in a rash.
In
September 2007, Samantha won Disney Channel's 'You're The Star'
competition. It was a singing and dancing competition where
children had to vote for the winner online. She was over the moon
when she won and was so grateful to everyone that had voted for her.
The prize was to have professional singing and dancing lessons and
make her own music video. This was a dream come true.
After
this Sam was screen tested and then auditioned for the role of
presenter on the ' My School Musical' talent show. She passed this
audition and became co-presenter with actor and musician Brad
Kavanagh.
Sam
was so sad when the show finished, however it wasn't long before
Disney rang and asked if she would like to go to America to
interview the cast of ' High School Musical 3.' What do you
think she said? She couldn't believe it. From Willenhall in the West
Midlands to Salt Lake City, Utah. What a dream!
Disney
channel have definitely made some of Sam's dreams come true. The
last year has been an amazing experience.
